A family-owned and operated delicatessen with more than 80 years in business, Wagshal's, a Washington institution, enjoys a long tradition of customer satisfaction and gourmet catering.

Developing an online solution for Wagshal's involved learning how their three businesses - delicatessen, gourmet shop and catering - interact. For Wagshal's, we built a system that allows customers to place orders online, while the actual payment is accepted upon pickup or delivery.

Wagshal's is excellent at what they do. Our goal was to find solutions that mesh with their established operations so that they can concentrate on what they do best - satisfying customers and building warm, long-lasting relationships.

Solutions for Wagshal's included:

  • Development of an elegant Web site, including simple navigation, and hundreds of mouth-watering photos to show off all of their goods and services.
  • A simple, custom-designed content management system used by store staff to update inventory in real-time, as well as content (product descriptions, photographs, etc.) on the Web site.
  • An online database to streamline their operations and manage inventory across the businesses, making it possible for staff to change information about items - including availability - with the touch of a button.
  • An online ordering system lets customers place orders at their convenience, include notes or special requests, and select a delivery or pickup time from a schedule that staff can control and adjust by the day or the hour.
  • A fully e-commerce enabled Web site - allowing customers to order and pay online.
  • Design and management of an e-mail newsletter and mailing list. An easy-to-use form lets customers sign up and manage their subscription.
  • News and information Web site sections promoting in-store events, specials and holiday offerings.
